I think the website is great. The blog, as yet, hasn't reached greatness; but knowing Phil, it will get there.

What a wonderful show. The best of all time on TV. I watch all the reruns, laugh and cry each time, buy all the DVDs and can't wait to read the book. I miss you guys. You were the best.

I was fortunate to be at Phil's book signing in Philadelphia yesterday. He was very warm and personable and eager to answer any and all questions. I had read the book before his appearance and found it to be extremely entertaining as well as informative in regards to the creative process that made Everybody Loves Raymond as wonderful as it is. Which included many autobiographical moments that found there way into various scripts. My only complaint which is also a compliment is that I wanted more. I find the creative process endlessly fascinating. He held my attention from page 1 to the end and I was sorry it was over. When speaking with Phil as he signed the book I told him that he and all connected with the show had created something wonderful and timeless. Thinking back on this I'd like to add the following. The writers, cast and crew did not make great television. They transcended the medium and made something that is much larger. In this case the medium is not the message. Thanks Phil I had a wonderful time.

Phil. Loved your book. You're now a hero of mine. Why? You emphasized "kindness." I've written a screenplay about a true story that everyone knows about, but not the backstory. And it's never been on the big screen. Would love to talk to you about producing. Walden Media passed on it -- only because of a project with a similar theme. But kindness is the key. Please email me. Thank you for a wonderful book and terrific show. Sincerely, Tom

      Phil,

Thank you for writing such a wonderful book and thank you for ruining my life.

I bought your book as an audio book, and it's been the perfect companion for my 30-minute commutes to and from work. In fact, your humor and reading style are SO engaging that I've found myself offering to run more and more of my wife's errands, just so I can get more "car time" to listen to more of your stories. After 25 years of marriage, suddenly my wife thinks I'm taking an interest in being a "helpmate." Thanks a lot.

Don't feel bad, though. Really. It's probably my own fault. I coulda stuck to my "Prairie Home Companion" tapes.

Anyway, I don't work in an office that would make a good sitcom, my family is no more screwed up than any other, and nobody has ONCE told me that I should be a comic...

I simply enjoy the occasional good book.

      Thanks for making me laugh.
      Brad

      Hi,
I listened to the audio version of YLYF. I laughed uncontrollably. I was still laughing while changing my shorts. I would like to say that Phil Rosenthal is to this generation what Carl Reiner was to the sixties kids. What Carl did with the classic Dick Van Dyke Show, Phil has done with ELR. And this book is a wonderfully entertaining look back at such a great show.

Also, I have had vacations like the All Inclusive Vacation Phil wrote about. So, yes, I understand his frustration.

Phil, you are a genius. But I have to ask, why we never saw you on ELR. You put everyone you knew on the show, yet we never saw you. Your performances on panels discussions and interviews, as well as your reading of YLYF are fantastic. So the only thing missing from ELR was a reoccurring character performed by Phil.

Oh well, maybe in Phil's next hit show . . .

Anyway, I am a fan and I think this crazy world would be such a better place if there were more people like Phil Rosenthal.
      And Monica Horan.
      And Ray Romano.
      And Al Frankin.
      And Tina Fey.
And those wonderful Victoria's Secret models.

      That's all from me.

Take care, whoever is reading this and be happy.

      Dean
